The Tour de Nure is a charity cycle run by the PPU, held annually during September. Covering 120km, the route from the Carmelite Pastoral Centre in Moate to Terenure College is suitable for cyclists of all abilities and levels of fitness.

Divided into four stages, participants can complete the full route or any number of individual stages, or else enter as part of a team.First run in 2010, this has since become a popular event on the PPU calendar.

Beneficiaries of the funds raised have included The Terenure College PPU Benevolent Fund, A Little Lifetime Foundation, Saplings School for Autistic Children and ARC Cancer Support Centre.

The Terenure College Cycle Club is an officially registered club with Cycling Ireland, and since 2011 PPU members have an opportunity to purchase our very own Terenure College Cycling Club jerseys! For many of those taking part who haven't been on a bike since their school days, the Tour de Nure is a fun, social and rewarding day in the saddle.

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them" - Ernest Hemingway
